The Tin Zinc Rack Plating Line is used
for the production of the Astec
2000 brand, which is generally applied to fuel systems.
Plating is by bath/volume/ envelope/weight. This line
can handle an average of 120 flight bars per day.
A Tin
Zinc Barrel Line compliments this line, which is designed
to handle smaller parts such as fasteners and rivets.
The benefits of the Tin Zinc process
include the fact that this surface has excellent corrosion
resistance. Its solderability is good, even after several
months ageing. It has superior ductility, and can withstand
severe bending and crimping. Tin Zinc plating provides
good protection to steel against electrolytic corrosion
when in contact with aluminium. It has a high electrical
conductivity and is ideally suited for the earthing of
components. The neutral plating process allows its application
to electronic components and to glass-to-metal seals with
no attack to the glass. It may also be specified as an
alternative to Cadmium plating.
