The adjacent Zinc Nickel Rack Line is generally devoted to the plating of Brake components. Here the plating is by bath/volume/envelope/weight, with this line capable of can handling an average of 104 flight bars per day.

A newer Barrel Line can also deliver Zinc Nickel plating, with a throughput capacity of 5 tonnes per day. This line is designed to handle smaller parts such as fasteners and rivets.

As is the case with all of AST's processes, the Zinc Nickel plating is compatible with Chrome 6 FREE passivates which is an alternative to Cadmium plating. The benefits include the corrosion immunity, high ductility, hardness and heat resistance of the plated surface.
