A newer Barrel Line can deliver either
Zinc Nickel, Tin Zinc or Zinc Iron plating.
With a throughput capacity of 5 tonnes
per day, it is designed to handle smaller parts such as
fasteners and rivets.
As is the case with the rack plating
Zinc Nickel line, the benefits of this process include
the high ductility, corrosion immunity, hardness and heat
resistance of the plating. It is an alternative to Cadmium
plating and is compatible with Chrome
6 FREE passivates.
The benefits offered by Tin Zinc plating
include the fact that the finished surface has high resistance
to corrosion. It possesses excellent ductility, and can
maintain its integrity even under severe bending and crimping.
Even after being aged for several months its good solderability
characteristics are retained.
Tin Zinc plating provides good corrosion
protection to the steel at steel/ aluminium interfaces.
Its electrical conductivity is high. Because the plating
process is neutral it may be applied to electronic components
and to glass-to-metal seals with no risk of attack to
the glass. It is also an alternative process to Cadmium
plating.
